Procrastinating

I’ve been telling myself all day: “I can do it. I should do it.” It’s on today's list. But who would really know if it got pushed?

I’ll probably do it better when I’m fully into it anyway. “Relax,” I tell myself. “You’ve got time.”

Then, a sudden surge of motivation strikes. "Come on, boyo! You're not one to back down. You're the go-getter. Always have been." The pep talk is convincing. No more delays. No more excuses. It's time, baby.

Fired up, I sit down, grab a pen, and write on my to-do list for tomorrow: "Do it first thing in the morning!" There, I'm committed. Tomorrow, it's happening. The satisfaction is overwhelming.
